Doug Hall He is a fourth generation logger / rancher and owner of Hall Wood Processing. Initially specializing in producing hog fuel, Hall Wood Processing has since transformed into a business that commercially and pre-commercially harvests trees, builds roads, performs road maintenance and has the expertise and capability to handle other various projects that come up on forest land. Doug was the second logger in the state of Montana to become an Accredited Logging Professional and he served on the Montana Logging Association Board of Directors from 1996-1999. This commitment to his profession and to sound forest management can be observed by his willingness to embrace new technology. Doug is always willing to share his knowledge and expertise with foresters, landowners, fellow loggers, and students. In 2006 Doug was awarded for his professionalism by receiving the Montana Wood Products Association Logger of Year Award. As one of the larger landowners in the Potomac Valley, Doug has taken an active role in displaying sound forest management on his ranch. He has participated in the Tree Farm Program for 14 years. In 2011 Doug was recognized with the “Excellence in Forestry Award” by the Montana Society of American Foresters for this history of stewardship and active involvement in active forest management in western Montana.
