Jerry Sedlak Memorial Scholarship

The Jerry Sedlak Memorial Scholarship is for currently enrolled Oregon State University, College of Forestry undergraduate students majoring in Forest Engineering (FE), Forest Operations Management (FOM) or Forest Engineering/Civil Engineering (FE/CE)

Jerome ‘Jerry’ Sedlak

October 1952 – September 2003

Jerry Sedlak was a 1978 OSU Forest Engineering Masters Alum; served on the Forest Engineering Advisory Board; and assisted regularly with guest lectures, field trips, research efforts, and job opportunities for FE students.  He was President of Emerald Valley Thinning; a member of the Associated Oregon Loggers, the Society of American Foresters, and actively involved in the Springfield, Oregon community.  Jerry is remembered as an innovative and tenacious logger and forest engineer who coupled his professional engineering background with a deep respect for forestry.
