Since the early 1970s Weyerhaeuser has been widely known as the Pacific Northwest’s premier supplier of forest tree seedlings.  Western Regeneration business supports the Company’s forest areas and many other individuals and organizations outside Weyerhaeuser with top-quality seed, seedlings, and associated services to support successful forest regeneration.  We have also been a pioneer in selective breeding of PNW forest tree species, leading the region in development and production of hardy, fast growing Douglas-fir varieties for reforestation.  We operate six nursery and seed orchard facilities in Washington and Oregon that produce or procure 3000 pounds of seed and grow over 60 million tree seedlings per year.  We employ approximately 35 year-round and over 400 temporary seasonal workers in our facilities. We are a P&L business within the Company’s Western Timberlands division, marketing seed and seedlings through growing contracts, direct and speculation sales. We are committed to maintaining a motivated team of professionals through time with the skills and passion to deliver exceptional value to our seed and seedling customers, safely and cost-effectively.
