LEONARD JOHNSON

Leonard Johnson received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial & Management Engineering at Montana State University, and he received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at West Virginia University. From August 1974 to December 2007 he served as Assistant, Associate, and Professor of Forest Engineering at the University of Idaho and held various administrative positions. Leonard has had a long and distinguished career of academic teaching and research and has spent more than 30 years maintaining a solid base for the forest engineering program at the University of Idaho. With the help of Harry Lee, Leonard has been able to sustain the interest and enthusiasm of the Intermountain Region with his yearly Forest Engineering Symposium, which has kept the industry up-to-date on technological and social changes that have taken place over the last several decades. Upon retirement, he was awarded Professor Emeritus from the University of Idaho. At present he is principal officer at Leonard R Johnson & Associates Consulting.
