Dr. Greene has a long and successful forest engineering career. He has mentored a long list of graduate students who continue to make contributions after his counseling. His research outputs made him the “go to” expert on Southern operations. While his academic record is strong, he is also appreciated for his commitment to the logging operators. Dr. Greene appreciates that logging workers actually do the work and his Extension efforts with that group are much appreciated by Southern loggers.
Those not familiar with academia may not appreciate Dr. Greene’s contribution to teaching undergraduates. Dr. Greene is a “straight shooter” and the students know that and his teaching awards are enviable. Now as Dean of Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia, he will continue to emphasize teaching as a priority with the Faculty.
