LOREN KELLOGG

His lifetime contributions to the forest operations and engineering profession are phenomenal and have profoundly impacted today’s forest operations practices worldwide. His endeavors and accomplishments in forest engineering are exemplary in all aspects of education, extension, research, development, and administration. Dr. Kellogg has served the Forest Engineering Department at Oregon State University in various capacities since 1978. Currently, he is the Lematta Professor of Forest Engineering. He has been truly instrumental in developing and maintaining the forest engineering program in many different countries throughout his professional career, including Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, and South Korea. He has also served in a leadership role with IUFRO for the last 23 years and COFE in various capacities. Dr. Kellogg’s contributions to international forestry are further proven by the Fulbright Specialist Award he received in 2012 for his development of forest operations management education in Australia and an Honorary Principal Fellow position he held at the University of Melbourne.
