Awatif Hassan Honored

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has named Awatif Hassan a Fellow of the Society.  Only about two percent of the active members of ASABE have achieved the grade of Fellow.  Hassan (Professor Emeritus, Forestry, Biological and Agricultural Engineering Departments of North Carolina State University) was honored for outstanding contributions to forest, biological and agricultural engineering education, research, and dedicated service to ASABE and other national and international organizations.  She holds the unique position of being the first woman in the United States and Canada to graduate with a Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Engineering.  She has been a COFE member for 25 years.
